Bhubaneswar, Aug 19 [UDN}:An active low-pressure area has developed over Odisha and its adjoining regions, increasing the likelihood of widespread rainfall across several parts of the state. In view of the prevailing weather system, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding heavy rainfall in different districts of Odisha.
The low-pressure system is expected to influence weather conditions over the state, bringing increased cloud cover, thunderstorms, gusty winds and periods of intense rainfall in several areas. Some districts may experience heavy to very heavy showers, while other parts of Odisha are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall during the coming days.
The weather department has advised people to remain alert, particularly in areas vulnerable to waterlogging, flash flooding and landslides.
