Intensive 10-Day Training Programme Launched in Balimela to Guide and Motivate Youth Aspiring to Join the Indian Armed Forces as Agniveers

Malkangiri, Oct 9 [UDN}: A 10-day training programme for Agniveer aspirants has commenced at Balimela Science and Technology College in Malkangiri district, with the aim of preparing local youth physically and mentally for Agniveer recruitment and inspiring them to serve the nation.

The programme has been organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) under the Odisha Government’s Gramodaya scheme. The initiative seeks to equip aspiring candidates with the physical fitness, endurance, discipline and confidence required for the Agniveer recruitment process.

The inaugural programme was attended by College Principal Subash Chandra Majhi, NSS District Nodal Officer Saroj Kumar Mahapatra, Physical Trainer Alok Kumar Mahapatra, and NSS Programme Officer Tapan Karya. The inaugural session was conducted by the NSS Programme Officer.

As many as 330 selected Agniveer aspirants participated in the training programme with enthusiasm. Addressing the participants, the guests emphasised that discipline, dedication, self-confidence and hard work are the key ingredients for success. They also highlighted the important role and responsibilities of young people in safeguarding the nation.

Following the inaugural session, the aspirants underwent various physical exercises and fitness training under the guidance of the physical trainer. The 10-day programme is expected to improve their physical fitness, stamina and mental strength and help them prepare effectively for the Agniveer recruitment process.

The organisers expressed hope that the training would motivate and prepare more young aspirants from the region to qualify for recruitment and join the Indian Armed Forces in the service of the nation.
