Junior Teachers Appointed in 2023–24 Regularised by Odisha Government

Bhubaneswar,  Oct 7 [UDN}:The Odisha Government has announced a major decision for Junior Teachers (Schematic) by recognising them as regular teachers under the state’s elementary education cadre.

The School and Mass Education Department has issued an official notification in this regard, providing formal recognition to Junior Teachers appointed during the 2023–24 academic year.

As per the notification, these teachers will be recognised as Assistant Teachers under Level-V(A) of the Elementary Cadre. The decision is expected to provide greater job security and access to regular service benefits for the affected teachers.

Importantly, the regularisation will have retrospective effect from January 1, 2026. Accordingly, the teachers will be entitled to regular salary and other applicable service benefits from that date.

The government’s decision is being seen as a significant step towards bringing Junior Teachers (Schematic) into the regular teaching cadre and extending them the benefits associated with regular government service.
