Malkangiri , Oct 26 [UDN}:In a remarkable achievement for the public healthcare system, a highly complex surgical operation has been successfully performed at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Malkangiri, Odisha. The successful operation, made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Malkangiri district administration, the Health Department and the dedicated medical team, has given a new lease of life to 17-year-old tribal student Tulasi Sodi from the Bangabadi area of Kanker district in neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
According to the information provided by the district administration, the young girl had been suffering from severe physical pain for a prolonged period. After learning about her condition, the Health Department acted promptly to ensure that she received the necessary medical attention and was admitted to Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
The challenging operation was carried out under the leadership of senior surgeon Dr Sapan Kumar Dinda, with the valuable assistance of his medical team. During the surgery, the doctors successfully and safely removed a massive ovarian cyst weighing approximately 20 kilograms from the patient’s abdomen.
