Delhi ,Sept 11 [UDN}: Security arrangements have been significantly intensified across New Delhi ahead of the upcoming BRICS Summit, with authorities putting in place extensive security measures to ensure the safety of visiting foreign dignitaries, senior government officials and other delegates. As part of the elaborate security plan, around 7,000 security personnel are expected to be deployed at key locations across the national capital.
The security apparatus is being strengthened at important government establishments, major roads, diplomatic areas, hotels, venues associated with the summit and other strategically sensitive locations. Security agencies are also expected to maintain heightened surveillance and conduct intensive checking in areas through which VIP movements will take place.
The deployment of a large number of personnel is aimed at ensuring smooth movement of the visiting leaders and delegates while preventing any potential security threat during the high-profile international event. Police and other security agencies are coordinating closely to monitor traffic, regulate public movement and maintain strict security protocols throughout the summit.
Authorities are also focusing on traffic management, route security, access control and surveillance, particularly around the summit venue and locations where foreign dignitaries are likely to stay or travel. Additional security personnel may be positioned at entry and exit points, important intersections and other sensitive areas.
The large-scale deployment reflects the importance of the BRICS Summit, which brings together leaders and senior representatives from major emerging economies. With several high-profile dignitaries expected to participate, Delhi security agencies are leaving no room for security lapses and are preparing for heightened security requirements before and during the summit.
