Nandankanan Zoo Expands Wildlife Collection with Arrival of 36 Animals Representing 11 New Species

Bhubaneswar,  Oct 8 [UDN}:Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar has welcomed 36 new animals and birds belonging to 11 different species, adding several new attractions for visitors.

From October 3, 2026, tourists can see the newly arrived animals in their newly opened enclosures. The new guests include zebras, kangaroos, wallabies, meerkats, scarlet macaws and scarlet ibises, among others.

The opening of the new animal enclosures is expected to further enhance the attraction of Nandankanan for wildlife enthusiasts, families and tourists. With the arrival of these diverse species, visitors will now have an opportunity to observe several animals and birds that were not previously part of the zoo’s attractions.

The introduction of the new species is also aimed at enriching the zoo’s wildlife collection and providing visitors with a wider experience of animal and bird diversity.
