Odisha Braces for Extremely Heavy Rainfall as Red Warning Is Issued, Residents Advised to Follow Official Weather and Disaster Management Advisories

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 8 [UDN}:  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Warning for Odisha due to the likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall.
A severe rain spell is expected to affect several parts of the state, with one district placed under a Red Warning because of the possibility of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.
In addition, the IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for 21 districts, warning of thunderstorms and rainfall. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow updates issued by local authorities and the weather department.
