Odisha Opens Rs 42Crore Modern Public Library in Cuttack

Cuttack, July 15 (UDN): The Odisha government has inaugurated the state’s largest modern public library in Cuttack. Built at a cost of around Rs 42 crore, the new facility has been named after freedom fighter and social reformer Late Biswanath Pandit.

The library has been developed with modern facilities to support students, researchers, and the general public. It will provide access to a wide collection of books, digital resources, and dedicated spaces for learning and research.

The initiative is aimed at improving access to knowledge and strengthening public education infrastructure in the state. The library is expected to benefit students preparing for competitive examinations as well as readers and researchers looking for a better learning environment.

The government said the facility will serve as an important knowledge centre and encourage reading, learning, and academic development among people.

The new library also honours the contributions of Biswanath Pandit, recognising his role as a freedom fighter and social reformer. The project marks a step towards creating modern and accessible educational spaces for citizens across Odisha.
