Officials Assess Revenue Generation, Service Delivery, and Operational Efficiency of the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva Federation During High-Level Review Meeting

Jharsuguda: Aug 5 [UDN}:A significant district-level committee review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Jharsuguda District Collector Kunal Motiram Chandan. During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted regarding the current status of the ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’ scheme in the district and the functioning of block-level federations associated with the service.
Special focus was given to reviewing the performance of the ‘Maa Samaleswari Federation’ operating under the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva scheme in Kolabira Block. The meeting assessed the efficiency of revenue collection by women conductors engaged under the federation, punctuality of services, compliance with operational guidelines, and coordination in management activities.
Based on the performance review, the District Collector approved the engagement of eligible Block Level Federations (BLFs) under Mission Shakti as revenue collection agencies in other additional blocks of the district as well.
The meeting also discussed the expansion of new bus routes in Kirmira Block and the introduction of 25 new electric buses in the district. To improve transportation facilities for general passengers as well as air travellers, three new buses will operate regularly between Sambalpur and Airport Square and between Jharsuguda Railway Station and the airport.
Meanwhile, the District Collector took a strict stance regarding cleanliness and maintenance issues at the Jharsuguda Bus Stand and issued show-cause notices to the concerned authorities for negligence.
The meeting was attended by Regional Transport Officer Pranaya Kumar Mishra, DSP Menaka Rout, Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Krushna Keshari Baliyarsingh, OSRTC Jharsuguda Manager Rajesh Biswal, along with officials from the Transport Department and other employees of OSRTC.
