Social Audit Programme Held in Dharakote Block with Focus on Ensuring Transparency, Monitoring Public Projects, and Improving Service Delivery

Asika ,July 31 UDN}: A social audit programme for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) for the financial year 2025–26 was held at the Dharakote Block conference hall. The programme was conducted under the supervision of APO Nandini Das.

Bhanjanagar Sub-Collector Uma Shankar Behera, Tehsildar Lambodar Marandi, BDO Truptimayee Jena, District Social Coordinator Rabindra Malan, Additional Tehsildar Ganesh Dalai, ABDO Bhawani Shankar Pradhan and Assistant Executive Engineer Gyan Ranjan Pradhan were among those present as guests.

Across the 18 gram panchayats of Dharakote Block, a total of 573,830 person-days of employment have been generated for 25,043 job-card holders. Similarly, 524 job-card holders have completed 100 days of employment under the scheme.

During the financial year 2025–26, a total of ₹3.17 crore was spent under the MGNREGS programme. As the Viksit Bharat Viksit Gram (VBVG) initiative has recently been launched, the officials present at the programme called upon everyone to extend their full cooperation and work actively towards its successful implementation.

Officials from the MGNREGS department, including Amesh Behera, Deepak Pattnaik, Sanjeev Raul and Ashutosh Pradhan, along with all Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers, Panchayat Executive Officers (PEOs) and Additional Data Entry Operators (ADEOs), were also present at the programme.
