The blood donation camp held at Semiliguda witnessed an encouraging response, highlighting the spirit of social responsibility and humanitarian service among the participants.

Semiliguda,July 15 [UDN}:: On the occasion of the retirement of Mr. Naresh Chandra Sahu, President of the State Blood Donors’ Association, a blood donation camp was organized at the E-Library located behind the Semiliguda Press Club.

Despite heavy rainfall, a total of 46 people voluntarily donated blood during the camp. The programme was inaugurated by the Association’s Advisor, Dr. Chittaranjan Mishra, and Dr. Naresh Chandra Sahu, State Executive President of the Federation of Blood Donor Organisations of Odisha (FBDOO).

Mr. Sahu was felicitated on his retirement with a traditional shawl and a bouquet of flowers. Koraput Association General Secretary Snigdharani Mishra, Advisor Dr. Chittaranjan Mishra, President Bijay Sahu, and others highlighted Dr. Sahu’s significant contributions to the field of blood donation.

Members of three families, including two couples, participated in the blood donation drive together. People from Koraput, Damanjodi, and Sunabeda also came forward to donate blood.

Among those present were Executive President Pradeep Kumar Tripathy, Advisor Ajay Kumar Sahu, Vice-President Jay Badatya, Organising Secretary Anand Maulipattanayak, Treasurer Ganesh Sahu, Joint Secretary Swastik Mishra, and members Jyotsna Badatya and Asha Sharma.

Mr. M.V. Ramesh, President of the Shivashakti Traders’ Association, was inducted as a new member of the organization.

Dr. Madhusudan Baliarsingh and staff members V. Gangadhar, Kaibalya Das, Ajit Gouda, and Rabindra Mishra from the Blood Centre of Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital, Koraput, collected the blood donations.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by General Secretary Mrs. Mishra.
