Hyderabad,Sept 15 [UDN}: A delegation from the US Consulate General in Hyderabad visited the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) in Bhubaneswar to explore opportunities for strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between India and the United States.
During the visit, the delegation held detailed discussions with CSIR-IMMT Director Dr. Ramanuj Narayan and senior scientists of the institute. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral collaboration in the strategic areas of critical minerals, mineral exploration, resource recovery and advanced mineral processing technologies.
The meeting highlighted the growing importance of critical minerals for modern industries, clean-energy technologies, advanced manufacturing and national economic security. Both sides discussed the potential for greater exchange of scientific expertise, research capabilities, technological knowledge and innovative solutions in the field.
The interaction also provided an important platform to explore future avenues of India-US scientific and technological partnership, particularly in developing advanced processing technologies and promoting sustainable and efficient utilisation of critical mineral resources.
The visit is expected to contribute towards deeper collaboration between Indian and American institutions and further strengthen cooperation in emerging areas of minerals, materials science and advanced processing technology.
