Malkangiri,Aug 4 [UDN}: Under the major initiative “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and implemented through MY Bharat, a district-level competition and awareness programme was organised at Women’s College, Malkangiri on July 29, 2026, at 10:30 AM under the guidance of Mr. Hanit Kumar, District Youth Officer.
The programme was attended by Mr. Muna Turuk, District Sports Officer, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Mr. Dushmant Jena, Dr. Ranjan Swain, Head of the Commerce Department, Mr. Kishore Kumar, and Lecturer Uttam Mallik.
The speakers encouraged the youth to adopt a drug-free lifestyle, create awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse, and actively participate in building a healthy, responsible, and developed India.
Various competitions were organised during the event, including folk music, dance, street play (Nukkad Natak), painting, debate, and slam poetry. Through the MY Bharat portal, online competitions such as slogan writing and short film/reel making were also conducted.
The initiative aimed to provide a platform for young people to showcase their creativity, spread awareness against drug abuse, and contribute towards the vision of a drug-free youth force for a developed India. Intellectuals expressed that such programmes would motivate the younger generation to join the movement for a healthier and progressive nation.
