UPI Becomes Completely Free of Cost for Consumers, Encouraging Greater Use of Digital Payments for Shopping, Money Transfers, Bill Payments and Everyday Transactions

Bhubaneswar, Aug 25 [UDN}:To further expand and encourage the use of digital transactions across the country, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has been made completely free of cost for consumers. This initiative is aimed at making digital payments more accessible, convenient, secure and affordable for people from all sections of society. By removing transaction charges for consumers, the move is expected to encourage greater adoption of UPI-based payments and promote a faster transition towards a more inclusive and cashless digital economy. It will also make everyday transactions such as payments at shops, money transfers, bill payments and other digital purchases more convenient for customers, while strengthening the overall digital payment ecosystem.
