Bhubaneswar, Aug 25 [UDN}:Odisha is rapidly emerging as one of the country’s leading skill-development hubs, said Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain while participating in the regional Skill Ministers’ Conference, ‘Kaushal Manthan,’ held in Kolkata.
The conference focused on several key areas related to strengthening the state’s skill-development ecosystem. Discussions were held on the modernisation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), expansion of World Skill Centres, establishment of industry-driven Centres of Excellence, and creation of international employment opportunities for skilled youth.
The Minister highlighted Odisha’s growing efforts to align skill-development programmes with the evolving requirements of industries and the global job market. The initiatives are expected to enhance the employability of young people, strengthen industry-academia linkages and create more avenues for Odisha’s skilled workforce to secure employment both within the country and abroad.
