Bhadrak, July 14 (UDN): Continuous heavy rainfall triggered by an active weather system has prompted the Bhadrak district administration to close all government, government-aided, and private schools across the district on Tuesday as a precautionary measure.
The administration stated that the decision was taken considering the prevailing weather conditions and the forecast of further rainfall over the next 24 hours.
However, schools operating under the Central Kitchen model will remain open temporarily for the distribution of Mid-Day Meals to students before academic activities are suspended for the day.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha due to the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. A low-pressure area is also likely to develop over the Bay, which may intensify rainfall activity across the state.
