Bhubaneswar, May 17: While the intense summer heat keeps many indoors, it also opens up an excellent window for students to pursue creative interests and acquire new skills. Across Bhubaneswar, various schools and institutions have taken this opportunity to host engaging summer camps, offering students a well-rounded blend of learning, fun, and exploration beyond the traditional classroom.
At Mother’s Public School, located in Unit I, students from Classes I to VIII participated in a vibrant ‘Summer Camp 2025’ held from May 1 to 15. Centered around the theme “Fun and Learn,” the camp featured a wide range of thoughtfully curated activities. Students took part in yoga, aerobics, self-defense, horse riding, swimming, art and craft, origami, pottery, music, dance, storytelling, and fitness sessions. Special highlights included movie screenings, a magic show, a visit to Wonderla for Water Day, and sand art workshops.
The program, coordinated by Satya Ranjan Swain, Head of the Physical Education Department, along with a team of committed teachers, was conducted both on the school premises and at outdoor venues. Parents expressed their satisfaction with the safe and energetic environment, noting the boost in students’ confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. “It was heartening to see our students so engaged and happy,” said Principal Poly Patnaik as the camp came to a joyful close.
At ODM Public School, a 15-day summer camp wrapped up on Thursday with a lively closing ceremony. During the inaugural session, Dr. Satyabrata Minaketan, Chairman and Founder of the ODM Education Group, underscored the significance of nurturing children’s hidden talents and the value of activity-based learning. The camp, which catered to students from Classes I to VIII, was divided into sections based on age and interest areas, featuring nature exploration, games, craft-making, and critical thinking exercises.
A certificate distribution ceremony marked the conclusion of the camp, with Dr. Minaketan personally awarding enthusiastic and high-achieving students. The event also saw participation from School Director Indumati Ray, CEO Swoyan Satyendu, and other faculty members.
Adding to the summer cheer, Empires Hotel, Bhubaneswar, is set to host the fourth edition of its ‘Summer Scape’ camp from May 17 to 25, running daily from 2 PM to 7 PM. This year’s edition includes an exciting lineup of activities such as music, dance, power yoga, art and craft sessions, magic shows, junior chef classes, and grooming workshops. Renowned dancer and judge Gaurishankar Dash will join as the honorary ‘Grand Guru’, alongside a team of professional mentors.
These camps not only provide children a fun escape from the heat but also foster creativity, discipline, and personal growth—making summer both memorable and meaningful.
