2nd November 2024: Odisha is witnessing a significant transformation in its healthcare sector with the recent launch of three key projects by Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi. The opening of the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory near Bhubaneswar, the establishment of the Central Yoga and Natural Treatment Research Institute in Khordha, and the inauguration of a Critical Care Center in Baragarh represent major strides in the state’s health infrastructure.
These new facilities are poised to bring about a substantial change in drug testing and quality control within Odisha. Previously, the state depended on external laboratories for medication quality assessments. With the establishment of this laboratory, Odisha can now conduct these tests locally, leading to faster results and improved access to high-quality medications for the public.
Chief Minister Shri @MohanMOdisha highlighted the pride associated with this initiative, noting that it will reduce the burden on existing state facilities and enhance the overall efficiency of health services.
During the event, the Prime Minister also launched the Ayushman Bharat scheme for those aged 70 and above, aiming to provide comprehensive health coverage. He introduced the U-WIN Portal to strengthen vaccination management nationwide and announced drone services to enhance healthcare delivery in remote regions.
