Nabarangpur,July 22 UDN}: A district-level joint public grievance hearing camp was held on Monday at the conference hall of the Umerkote Municipality under the joint chairmanship of Nabarangpur District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain and Superintendent of Police Kashyap Partha Jagadish.
Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr. Pramod Kumar Pusti, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, and officials from various district-level departments were present at the camp and heard the grievances of the general public.
During the hearing, people raised complaints related to land disputes, illegal country liquor trade, harassment by liquor mafias, old-age and disability pensions, pensions, livelihood issues, and various other public concerns. Complaints that could be resolved immediately were addressed on the spot.
The District Collector directed the concerned departments to take necessary steps for the early resolution of the remaining grievances. Special attention was given to issues related to old-age and disability pensions, and some irregularities in this regard were resolved during the camp.
A total of 33 complaints were received at the grievance hearing camp, including 22 individual complaints and 11 collective complaints. Of these, three complaints were resolved immediately at the spot, while the remaining complaints were forwarded to the concerned departments with instructions to resolve them within the stipulated time frame.
On the occasion, financial assistance was also provided to a beneficiary from the Red Cross Fund.
