Nabarangpur, April 20: “Census Awareness Chariot” was flagged off by the district administration at the premises of the District Collector’s office. The District Collector and Chief Census Officer, Dr. Maheshwar Swain, along with Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) and District Census Officer, Bishwajit Chandra Barman, inaugurated the chariot by flagging it off.
On this occasion, Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia, District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu, District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera, Project Officer of the Emergency Department Himanshu Pattnaik, Deputy Collector Nibedita Satpathy, officials and staff of the Collector’s office, and media representatives were present.
From yesterday until May 15, during the first phase of Census 2027, enumerators will visit households door-to-door to prepare house listings and conduct housing census. Prior to this, the general public had already submitted their self-enumeration data through a designated app from April 1 to April 15.
The Census Awareness Chariot will travel across all charge areas of the district to create awareness among the public to provide accurate and unbiased census information.
