Boudh Continues to Top the Heat Chart as Odisha Faces Ongoing Heatwave

18th March 2025: Boudh district in Odisha remained the hottest place in India on March 17, recording a sweltering 43.5°C for the third consecutive day. Bargarh followed with 42°C, while Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh hit 41.3°C.

Severe heat conditions continued in Boudh, which had reached 42.5°C on Saturday and 43.6°C on Sunday. Other areas, including Angul, Titlagarh, and Malkangiri, also saw temperatures over 40°C. The IMD issued heatwave warnings for districts like Boudh and Jharsuguda, with thunderstorms and lightning expected in parts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj on Tuesday.

The heatwave is expected to ease by March 20, with rainfall and thunderstorms bringing relief to the state.
