Cuttack, February 6, 2025: The ticket sales for the upcoming India vs. England cricket match at Barabati Stadium turned chaotic, causing frustration among fans. Long queues formed well before the sale began, and as tickets ran out, a stampede-like situation emerged.
Crowds pushed and shoved, breaking barricades, and the police had to intervene using mild force to control the situation. Several people fainted due to the heat and exhaustion and received medical attention. Despite efforts to manage the crowd, the shortage of tickets led to widespread disappointment.
Over 20,000 people had gathered, and the police had to maintain order throughout the day. Although the authorities had made some arrangements, the overcrowding highlighted the need for better crowd management in the future.
