Child Safety Takes Centre Stage During Puri Rath Yatra as OSCPCR, DCPU and UNICEF Undertake Awareness Drive for Protection of Children

Puri, July 21 [UDN}: On the sacred occasion of the Rath Yatra at Srikshetra Puri, the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR), in collaboration with the Puri District Administration, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Puri, and UNICEF, has undertaken a child-friendly awareness initiative to ensure the safety and protection of children amid the gathering of lakhs of devotees.
Considering the huge crowd during the Rath Yatra, special efforts have been made to trace and safely rescue missing children and reunite them with their parents or guardians. As part of this important initiative, 60 trained volunteers have been deployed to assist in identifying, rescuing, and safely handing over missing children to their families.
On behalf of the Commission, I sincerely express my gratitude to all the dedicated volunteers for extending their wholehearted support and standing firmly committed to this noble and significant cause of ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of children during the Rath Yatra.
