Bhubaneswar, March 5: Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a review meeting at Lokseva Bhavan to assess the progress of five major irrigation projects across the state. These include the Ib Irrigation Project (Sundargarh), Ang Irrigation Project (Bargarh), Bhimkund Barrage Project (Kendujhar), Jharpada Irrigation Project, and Kanupur Irrigation Project.
The Chief Minister emphasized the urgency of speeding up the implementation of these projects, which aim to improve irrigation facilities for agriculture. He noted that, although proposed long ago, these projects had not yet been operationalized.
Once completed, these projects are expected to irrigate over 2.15 lakh hectares of land, providing significant relief to farmers. The CM directed the Water Resources Department to take swift action and ensure the timely completion of these initiatives.
