Jeypore, Sept 2 [UDN}:The stretch of the Jeypore–Vijayawada State Highway from Gandhi Chhak to the Power House had reportedly been in a severely damaged condition for a long time. The road was filled with large potholes, causing immense inconvenience to commuters and local residents. There were also complaints that the poor condition of the road had led to accidents, putting the safety of motorists and pedestrians at risk.
Concerned about the situation, a young resident of Jeypore, Vibha Basu Nagesh, submitted an online complaint regarding the badly damaged road.
Following the complaint, Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan reportedly took immediate notice of the issue and initiated prompt action. The District Collector directed the concerned authorities to begin repair work and carry out patching on the damaged portions of the road.
Acting on the instructions, road repair work was started, bringing much-needed relief and hope to commuters who had been facing difficulties for a long period.
The District Collector’s swift response and immediate intervention have received widespread appreciation from the general public. People have praised the prompt action taken after a citizen raised the issue, describing it as an example of responsive and people-centric administration.
The incident highlights how timely action by the administration can quickly address public grievances and improve the daily lives and safety of ordinary citizens.
