Koraput , Aug 29 [UDN}: The District Collector of Koraput visited the flood shelter located under the jurisdiction of Kotpad Panchayat Samiti. During the visit, the District Collector inspected the arrangements and facilities available at the flood shelter to ensure that it is adequately prepared to accommodate people in the event of flooding or other weather-related emergencies.
The visit focused on assessing the preparedness of the shelter, including basic amenities, safety measures, sanitation facilities, drinking water arrangements, and other essential provisions required for the temporary accommodation of affected residents. The District Collector also reviewed the overall condition and readiness of the facility and emphasized the need for timely preparedness and effective coordination among the concerned officials so that people can be safely shifted to the shelter whenever required.
The inspection was aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring that necessary arrangements are in place to provide immediate assistance, safety, and essential services to people affected by possible flooding in the area.
