25th March 2025: In today’s world, informed and conscious consumers play an essential role in creating a healthier and more robust society. At the World Consumer Rights Day event, Food and Consumer Welfare Minister Shri Krushna Chandra Patra emphasized the importance of consumer awareness in preventing fraud.
ଖାଉଟିମାନେ ସଚେତନ ହୋଇପାରିଲେ ଠକେଇର ଶିକାର ହେବା ସମ୍ଭାବନାକୁ ଦୂରେଇ ଦିଆଯାଇପାରିବ। ସଚେତନ ଖାଉଟି ସଶକ୍ତ ସମାଜ ଗଠନରେ ସହାୟକ ହୋଇପାରିବେ ବୋଲି ବିଶ୍ୱ ଉପଭୋକ୍ତା ଅଧିକାର ଦିବସ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ ଖାଦ୍ୟଯୋଗାଣ ଓ ଖାଉଟି କଲ୍ୟାଣ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଶ୍ରୀ କୃଷ୍ଣ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ପାତ୍ର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଅତିଥି ଭାବେ ଯୋଗଦେଇ କହିଛନ୍ତି।

He explained that when consumers are well-informed, they are less likely to be deceived, thereby helping to build a more responsible society. To support this, the government has initiated awareness programs at the district level to educate consumers about their rights and how to report any fraudulent activities.
Officials have been instructed to take prompt action on such complaints. As shopping methods evolve and online platforms grow, the direct connection between consumers and sellers has weakened, making it even more important for consumers to stay vigilant and make informed purchasing decisions.
