Kotpad, July 20 [UDN}:: The Kotpad Environment Committee organized a tree plantation drive in and around the Ambagaon forest area. The programme was conducted along the forest boundary as well as inside the forest to promote environmental conservation.
The plantation drive was carried out in the presence of local Forester Gobinda Kumar Nayak, Forest Guard Sudam Satpathy, Shashanka Kumar Maharana, Srinivas Rao, Gupteswar Raut, Pabitra Panigrahi, and other forest officials. Members of the Environment Committee, including Hemanta Kumar Patra, Pradeep Kumar Rath, Saroj Kumar Pattnaik, Prashanta Kumar Sahu, Padman Pradhan, Kunj Bihari Baidya Pattnaik, Achyutananda Baksi, and Shashi Bhushan Sahu, also participated.
During the programme, participants dispersed seed balls made of soil into inaccessible forest areas using slings and planted saplings of various species to support afforestation and strengthen the region’s green cover.
