Nabarangpur:Sept 23 [UDN}: A special inspection drive was conducted across Nabarangpur town to ensure food safety, cleanliness and hygienic conditions at establishments serving food to the public. The inspection was led by the District Food Safety Officer and involved officials and staff of the Nabarangpur Municipality, along with police personnel.
During the drive, teams visited several sweet shops, bakeries and restaurants in different parts of the town. They inspected food preparation and storage facilities, cleanliness of the premises, food quality, hygienic conditions and compliance with food safety regulations.
During the inspection, around 40 kg of sweets and approximately 30 kg of single-use plastic were seized. The seized materials were subsequently destroyed as per the prescribed rules.
The inspection team also issued notices to three establishments, directing them to take necessary corrective measures regarding cleanliness and hygiene. The concerned shops have been instructed to improve their sanitation and hygienic arrangements within 15 days.
Officials said such inspections would help ensure the supply of safe and quality food to the public while also contributing to the goal of keeping Nabarangpur town clean and free from single-use plastic. The authorities also appealed to the public to remain alert about food quality and cleanliness and to consume safe and hygienic food.
