Goddess Manikeswari Receives Nabanna Offering at Auspicious Hour, Marking an Important Traditional Agricultural Ritual

Bhubaneswar,  Sept 29 [UDN}:The traditional Nabanna ritual was performed at the shrine of Maa Manikeswari at the designated auspicious time. The newly harvested rice was first offered to the presiding deity as part of the sacred Nabanna ceremony.

Following the offering of Nabanna to Maa Manikeswari, people across the Gadajat region observed the traditional Nuakhai festival and partook of the new harvest. The ritual marks the beginning of consuming the season’s fresh agricultural produce after it is ceremonially offered to the deity.
