Kotpad, Sept 29 [UDN}:The Mahishasura Mardini Sangha of Belma Sahi in Kotpad organised a special felicitation programme during its 54th Ganesh Puja celebrations to remember and honour artists from the region who had brought pride and recognition to the soil through their artistic contributions.
As part of the programme, the puja committee honoured the families and descendants of several late artists with posthumous honours, recognising their contribution to the cultural heritage of the area and keeping their memories alive among the present generation.
Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra attended the programme as the chief guest. Other distinguished guests included Kotpad Municipal Chairperson M. Shankar Rao, Anamu Dian, Ganesh Chandra Panda, Mani Prasad Pattnaik, Pankaj Patra and Manohar Bishoyi, along with several prominent citizens of the town.
The presence of local dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts and residents added significance to the event. The programme also featured colourful dance performances by young children, which added vibrancy and entertainment to the Ganesh Puja celebrations.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to Priya Group founder Priyadarshini Rath for her support and contribution towards making the programme successful.
The initiative by Mahishasura Mardini Sangha was appreciated for celebrating Ganesh Puja not only as a religious festival but also as an occasion to remember the artistic legacy and cultural contributions of personalities associated with Kotpad.
