8th April 2025: In the last decade, yoga has seen remarkable global growth. To mark the upcoming International Yoga Day on June 21, a 75-day countdown began at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, featuring a series of yoga events. A key highlight was the inauguration of ‘Harita Yoga,’ a program focusing on health through nature-based practices.

Union Minister of Ayush, Pratap rao Yadav, highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting global health and shared that Prime Minister Modi has chosen the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” for 2025. He also noted how nature-focused yoga initiatives had gained international recognition, including a Guinness World Record.
Prominent leaders such as Deputy CM Pravati Parida, MP Samvit Patra, and Mayor Sulochana Das participated in the event. Over 6,000 yoga practitioners, led by Kashinath Samagandi, participated in sessions that included asanas, pranayama, and meditation. Additionally, 6,000 medicinal plants were distributed as part of the event, emphasizing holistic health.
This initiative highlights yoga’s role not only in physical wellness but also in fostering a deeper connection with nature.
