Nabarangpur, April 28: Due to the impact of the Kalbaisakhi storm, hailstorm occurred today in Nabarangpur town as well as in block areas. As a result, there was a power outage, and electricity was not restored for a long time.
For the past few days, the district has been facing frequent power cuts. Electricity is being disrupted daily for 2 to 4 hours in urban and block areas. In addition, low voltage problems are causing inconvenience to the public.
In rural areas, electricity is reportedly being cut for nearly 20 hours, as alleged by Sarpanches Bedabyas Bhatra and Narahari Majhi. Power disruptions at night are causing severe hardship to villagers, especially in the intense heat.
On the other hand, officials stated that the outages are not just routine power cuts but are occurring due to repair work following the Kalbaisakhi storm. Tata Power Executive Engineer Er. Ashok Kumar Rout said that low voltage issues are also arising due to increased use of induction stoves by some consumers.
He assured that necessary steps will be taken soon to address the situation.
