Bhadrak, Oct 7 [UDN}: On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Bhadrak district administration organised a series of programmes at Sanskruti Bhawan, focusing on the health, well-being, rights and empowerment of senior citizens.
The programme included yoga sessions, a medical health camp, and public awareness activities on legal rights and digital literacy. The initiatives were aimed at promoting healthy ageing and helping senior citizens become more aware of various services, rights and digital facilities available to them.
The Additional District Magistrate, Bhadrak, along with senior district officials, dignitaries and a large number of elderly citizens, attended the programme.
During the event, senior citizens who have made notable contributions in various fields of society were felicitated in recognition of their service and achievements. Students who excelled in competitions such as essay writing, debate and drawing were also awarded for their performances.
The observance highlighted the importance of respecting and supporting senior citizens while creating greater awareness about their health, legal rights, social participation and digital inclusion.
