Jharigaon MLA Visits Rain-Affected Badabhimaguada, Reviews Ground Situation and Instructs Officials on Relief Assistance

Jharigaon,Sept 25 [UDN}:: Several families in Badabhimaguada village under Dhodara Gram Panchayat of Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur district have been affected by incessant rainfall triggered by the prevailing low-pressure system. Several houses have reportedly been damaged or collapsed, leaving residents facing difficulties.

Amid the situation, Jharigaon MLA Narsingha Bhatra visited Badabhimaguada to take stock of the rain-related damage and assess the difficulties faced by affected residents. During his visit, the MLA met affected families, heard their grievances and assured them of necessary assistance.

The MLA also urged villagers and local youths to remain alert as heavy rain continues. He advised people to avoid venturing outside unless necessary and specifically asked residents to closely monitor the Bidri River’s water level and flow.

During the visit, Narsingha Bhatra, along with Suresh Kalar, Rupadhar Bhatra and Ghana Bhatra, interacted with affected residents and discussed their problems. He directed the concerned officials to conduct an immediate assessment of the damage suffered by affected families and ensure necessary government assistance as per applicable rules.

Administrative officials and the MLA’s associates also visited the affected areas to assess the ground situation. Shibanath Mandal, Revenue Inspector (RI) of the Tahasil Office, inspected the affected areas and reviewed the reported damage. Tarpaulins have also reportedly been provided to affected residents as an immediate measure.

Villagers have demanded an early assessment of damage to houses and other properties and immediate government assistance for affected families. With rainfall continuing, they have also urged the administration to arrange adequate food, drinking water and other essential relief supplies for those affected.

Residents and local intellectuals have called for precautionary measures by the administration, particularly as further heavy rainfall could cause additional damage. They have also sought prompt delivery of relief and assistance to vulnerable families.

The MLA’s visit during the adverse weather conditions and his interaction with affected residents have drawn attention locally, with residents expressing appreciation for his efforts to address their difficulties on the ground.
