Kotpad:Sept 25 [UDN}: Odisha Panchayati Raj Minister Ravi Narayan Nayak visited several flood-prone areas of Kotpad block and reviewed the preparedness measures taken by the local administration amid the threat of flooding.
As a precautionary measure, the administration evacuated around 200 people from vulnerable areas and shifted them to the Sadaranga shelter centre, where arrangements were made for their safety.
During his visit, Minister Nayak interacted with residents and assessed the situation on the ground. He also met families whose houses had been damaged and distributed tarpaulins and blankets to help them cope with the situation.
The minister reviewed the arrangements for people living in low-lying and vulnerable areas and directed officials to remain alert and ensure timely assistance to affected residents.
Koraput Collector, Kotpad Tehsildar, Block Development Officer (BDO), Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra and other officials were present during the minister’s visit.
