Kotpad June 17:: On the occasion of the completion of 12 years of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a special meeting and press interaction with intellectuals was organized at the Kotpad Kalyan Mandap.
The program was attended by Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi, Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, MP representatives Chandrasekhar Das and Rameswar Jena, and MLA representative Binayak Acharya, among others.
During the gathering, intellectuals from the Kotpad region presented various demands and concerns related to the area’s development. Major issues discussed included the beautification and restoration of Dayamati Sagar, making the new bus stand free from middlemen and ensuring that all buses operate through it, improving transportation facilities on the heavily congested Diwanmunda road, and enhancing educational and healthcare services.
Participants also emphasized the need for pension schemes for advocates and journalists, the restoration and beautification of the Jagannath Temple, and the establishment of a vegetable market and cold storage facility in the region.
The MP and MLA assured the attendees that the suggestions and demands raised by the intellectuals would be taken seriously and documented in writing. They also promised to work toward resolving these issues at the earliest.
The meeting concluded with an appeal for public cooperation in achieving the overall development and progress of Kotpad and its surrounding areas.
