Bhubaneswar, 9th November 2024: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that the cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal is expected to strengthen into a low-pressure area within the next 48 hours. This system is anticipated to move westward towards the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka in the coming days.
The IMD has also issued warnings of heavy rainfall in several regions due to this system. From November 8 to 14, Tamil Nadu is expected to receive significant rainfall, with additional rainfall likely in Puducherry and Karaikal on November 8 and November 12. Kerala and Mahe will see rainfall on November 8 and again from November 13 to 14, while coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema will experience rain from November 11 to 13.
