A transformative infrastructure project is set to cut travel time drastically between Berhampur and Bhubaneswar. The proposed 287-kilometer high-speed corridor will reduce the current 7-hour journey to just 3 hours, improving travel efficiency and convenience for commuters.

The corridor, which will allow vehicles to travel at speeds of up to 120 km/h, is expected to pass through several key districts, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Koraput. This will not only shorten the travel time but also provide a smoother and faster link between these important regions.

Former Minister Shri Pruthuraj Harichandan, who reviewed the project, emphasized the safety measures being put in place, particularly in hilly areas prone to accidents. To mitigate these risks, four tunnels will be constructed along the corridor, ensuring safe passage through difficult terrain and maintaining smooth traffic flow.

Once completed, the high-speed corridor will significantly boost connectivity, contribute to economic growth, and make travel between Berhampur and Bhubaneswar more efficient and accessible.
