Major Boost to Primary Education in Malkangiri as Foundation Stones for Six Godabarish Mishra Model Schools Are Laid

Malkangiri, June 18:  Under the second phase of the Godabarish Mishra Model Primary School Scheme, launched by the Odisha Government to bring qualitative improvements to the education sector, foundation stones have been laid for six schools in Malkangiri district.

A program organized jointly by the district administration and the Education Department was attended by local public representatives, government officials, and educationists.

At the event held at Temporary Colony High School, Chitrakonda, district-level representatives and officials from the Education Department participated, including District Education Officer Chittaranjan Pani. Similarly, at MV-73 Upper Primary School, Kangurube, Kalimela, representatives including Special Development Council Chairman Ganga Sodi and a Member of Parliament’s representative were present.

At Mundiguda High School in Rasabeda Gram Panchayat, Khairput, Additional District Education Officer Bhagirathi Behera, along with representatives of the MP and MLA, attended the foundation-laying ceremony. Similar ceremonies were also held at:

  • Kemuga High School, Prasannapalli
  • Niliguda High School, Podia Block
  • Kalapalli High School, Podaghat Gram Panchayat, Khairput

It is noteworthy that the foundation stone for one school had already been laid during the first phase of the scheme. With the addition of these six schools in the second phase, a total of seven Godabarish Mishra Model Primary Schools will now be developed in the district.
The administration informed that the preparation of the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for all these schools is in its final stage.
Once completed, these model schools are expected to usher in a new era of education in Malkangiri district. Students will have access to modern educational facilities

spread across five-acre campuses, including:

  • Playgrounds
  • Hostels
  • Well-equipped classrooms
  • Science laboratories
  • Adequate teacher appointments
  • Other modern educational infrastructure

According to the district administration, these facilities will significantly enhance the quality of education and learning opportunities available to students in the district.
