Malkangiri,Sept 24 [UDN}: The final electoral roll for Malkangiri district under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 was formally published on Monday following the successful completion of the revision exercise undertaken in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India.
The final voter list was released at the FLCI Hall on the premises of the District Collector’s Office under the supervision of District Election Officer and Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke.
According to the final electoral roll, Malkangiri district now has a total of 4,15,132 registered electors. Of these, 2,02,546 are male voters, 2,12,552 are female voters and 34 belong to the third-gender category. The figures show that the number of women voters in the district is higher than the number of male voters.
Constituency-wise, the 146-Malkangiri (ST) Assembly constituency has 2,24,966 voters, while the 147-Chitrakonda (ST) Assembly constituency has 1,90,166 voters.
As part of the SIR exercise, polling stations in the district were also rationalised to improve accessibility and streamline the electoral process. As many as 118 new polling booths were created, taking the total number of polling stations in Malkangiri from 549 to 666.
The enumeration phase of the revision process was conducted from May 30 to June 28, during which 89.75 per cent of the required forms were collected. Following scrutiny and verification of the submitted forms, necessary corrections were carried out in accordance with the prescribed rules before preparation of the final electoral roll.
The district administration has advised all eligible citizens to verify their names and other details in the final voter list through the authorised election portals. Voters can check their details through the Election Commission of India portal, the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha website, the Malkangiri district administration website and the ECINET application.
Citizens who are eligible to be enrolled but find that their names have been omitted from the final list can also use the prescribed online mechanism to submit an appeal by providing the relevant reference number.

The entire SIR-2026 revision exercise in the district was conducted under the supervision of District Election Officer and Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke, Additional District Election Officer and ADM (Revenue) Bedabar Pradhan, Electoral Registration Officer for the 147-Chitrakonda Assembly constituency and ADM (Administration) Somanath Pradhan, and Electoral Registration Officer for the 146-Malkangiri Assembly constituency and Sub-Collector Duryodhan Bhoi.
Representatives of various political parties were also present during the proceedings and participated in the verification and revision process. Among those present were BJD district president Manas Madkami, Congress general secretary Saroj Kumar Patra, BSP district president Jara Sabar Madhi, BJP district president Ashok Parida, Congress representative Padma Pangi and BJP general secretary Maniklal Chakraborty.
The participation of representatives from different political parties formed part of the consultation and verification process associated with the finalisation of the electoral roll.
