Sambalpur,Sept 18 [UDN}:: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited Sambalpur on Wednesday and attended a series of official programmes, including the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies for various development projects.
The Chief Minister arrived at the Jamadarpali Airstrip in Sambalpur at around 1:50 pm. From the airstrip, he proceeded directly to the auditorium of Gangadhar Meher University (GMU).
He reached the university at around 2:30 pm and participated in a programme organised for the inauguration and foundation laying of several development projects. During his visit, the Chief Minister also interacted with members of the media and addressed a press meet.
Following the programme at GMU, Chief Minister Majhi visited the newly constructed Doppler Weather Radar Station in Sambalpur. The radar is designed to provide weather-related information for an area extending to approximately 250 kilometres in radius.
The installation of the Doppler weather radar is expected to strengthen Odisha’s weather monitoring and forecasting capabilities, particularly by improving the availability of timely meteorological information for the region. Such enhanced monitoring can support early warnings and preparedness during severe weather events.
After completing his scheduled programmes in Sambalpur, Chief Minister Majhi departed from the Jamadarpali Airstrip at around 4:55 pm, concluding his visit to the district.
