Umerkote, Aug 10 [UDN}:: School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond laid the foundation stones for several development projects in different wards of Umerkote Municipality on Tuesday.
During the programme, the minister inaugurated the foundation works of various projects, including an amphitheatre near the Dongriguda Auditorium in Ward No. 13, a road nameplate for Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road at Medical Square in Ward No. 10, where a statue of Dr. Mukherjee will be installed in the coming days, a cowshed for the protection and care of cattle at Dongari Sahi in Ward No. 8, and a Kanjia House (cattle holding centre) near Jagannath Temple Road in Ward No. 3.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nityananda Gond said that once these projects are completed, they will significantly improve the infrastructure of the municipality and enhance public convenience. He emphasized that the development initiatives are aimed at providing better facilities and improving the overall quality of life for residents of Umerkote.
The programme was attended by the minister’s representative Ashok Kumar Padhi, MP’s representative Bhojanath Gond, Umerkote Municipality Chairperson Radha Bhatra, Executive Officer Alok Kumar Anugulia, Mandal President Santosh Sharma, General Secretary Prabhat Kumar Nayak, senior advocate Ramakrushna Nayak, along with party workers, public representatives, and employees of the municipal council.
