1st January 2025: From January 1st to 31st, the country observes “National Road Safety Month” with the goal of raising awareness about road safety and reducing road-related fatalities. Road accidents continue to be a serious issue, with many lives lost each day due to negligence and lack of adherence to safety rules.

The government at both the central and state levels has been taking various initiatives to curb road accident deaths. These include honoring those who assist in road safety efforts, setting up intelligent traffic enforcement systems, conducting self-driving vehicle trials, and offering assistance for hit-and-run cases. Despite these efforts, road accidents remain a major challenge, particularly among the younger population, which threatens the future of our nation.

This month, the focus is on saving lives by preventing accidents. Reducing road mishaps and ensuring safer roads is a shared responsibility. It’s important to spread awareness at every level, from cities to villages, and within households. Road safety should be seen as a collective mission for all of us.

The public is encouraged to participate in the “Come Home Safe” campaign, which promotes safe travel habits. Together, we can make a meaningful impact by fostering awareness, promoting safe practices, and protecting lives on the road.
