Odisha Emerges as a Leader in Renewable Energy Initiatives

5th July 2025: Odisha is rapidly emerging as a frontrunner in the field of renewable energy, with significant strides made in harnessing solar power for agricultural and institutional use. Under the PM-KUSUM Component-B and Sourajalnidhi schemes, the state has successfully installed 5,478 solar-powered irrigation pumps, boosting sustainable farming practices across rural regions.

In addition, 603 government buildings have been equipped with solar energy systems, contributing a combined capacity of 7.4 megawatts. These efforts not only reduce dependency on conventional energy sources but also align with the broader goal of promoting green and clean energy.

The Odisha Government’s proactive approach reflects its strong commitment to environmental sustainability and climate resilience. By encouraging the use of green energy, the state is setting an example for others to follow in the transition towards a low-carbon future.
