5th July 2025: Odisha is rapidly emerging as a frontrunner in the field of renewable energy, with significant strides made in harnessing solar power for agricultural and institutional use. Under the PM-KUSUM Component-B and Sourajalnidhi schemes, the state has successfully installed 5,478 solar-powered irrigation pumps, boosting sustainable farming practices across rural regions.

In addition, 603 government buildings have been equipped with solar energy systems, contributing a combined capacity of 7.4 megawatts. These efforts not only reduce dependency on conventional energy sources but also align with the broader goal of promoting green and clean energy.
