Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 [UDN}:Odisha has received another national recognition in the field of urban cleanliness and scientific waste management, with Bhubaneswar and Puri selected among 50 cities from 24 States and Union Territories under the PRAGATI 50 initiative of the Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban 2.0.
The virtual national launch of PRAGATI 50 was held today under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar.
The initiative focuses on strengthening urban sanitation and promoting scientific and sustainable waste management practices in selected cities across the country.
Odisha’s Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra participated in the national launch programme virtually. The selection of Bhubaneswar and Puri marks an important recognition of the State’s ongoing efforts towards improving urban sanitation, cleanliness and waste management systems.
