Moscow, Nov 9: Russian President Vladimir Putin has hailed India as a rising global superpower, emphasizing its rapid economic growth, vast population, and rich cultural heritage. Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi on Thursday, Putin stressed that India’s economy is currently expanding faster than any other in the world and deserves to be included in the list of global superpowers.

“India should undoubtedly be added to the list of superpowers, with its 1.5 billion people, the fastest-growing economy, and very good prospects for further growth,” Putin said, describing India as a “great country” with significant global influence.

Putin also underscored the strength of the bilateral relationship between Russia and India, noting that their cooperation spans multiple sectors, including security and defense. He highlighted the joint development of military technology, particularly the BrahMos cruise missile, as a symbol of the deep trust between the two nations.
