1st April 2025: Rourkela is set for major development, with key projects announced by Prithviraj Harichandan, the Minister of Law, Works, and Excise, during a public event on Saturday. Among the initiatives is a 100-km Ring Road around the city, which will make Rourkela the first city in Odisha to have such a large-scale project. The new Ring Road will play a pivotal role in enhancing connectivity and supporting the city’s growth and real estate expansion.
In addition, Harichandan highlighted the beautification of Vedvyas, a significant religious and tourist destination. The project will feature an iconic hanging bridge over the Brahmani River, which will include a glass floor, offering pedestrians a unique view of the river. The ₹35 crore project is set to begin soon, with the foundation stone to be laid in May. Harichandan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Rourkela’s progress, ensuring continued development in the city.
