1st April 2025: Vedanta Ltd. has revealed plans to set up a state-of-the-art aluminium park in Jharsuguda, located near its existing aluminium smelter. Spanning 253 acres, the park is expected to attract over 100 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), creating up to 2 lakh job opportunities.
In addition, the company intends to establish an aluminium plant in Rayagada district with an annual capacity of 3 million tonnes. The total investment for both the park and the plant is estimated at ₹1 lakh crore. Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Vedanta Aluminium, expressed strong confidence in Odisha’s potential to drive India’s industrial growth, highlighting the investment as a sign of Vedanta’s commitment to the state.
This initiative follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Vedanta and the state government during the ‘Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave’ held earlier this year.
