Santali Language Expert Committee Discusses Minority Language Status, Education Rights and School-Level Promotion with Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar,  Oct 8 [UDN}:A Santali language expert committee held discussions with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi regarding granting minority language status to Santali through the Ol Chiki script and introducing Santali as a language of instruction under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 from Class 1 to Class 10.

The committee placed its demands before the Chief Minister and discussed measures for the promotion, preservation and wider use of the Santali language and the Ol Chiki script in the state’s education system.
